A Tijuana Trip was originally a one man band started in
November 2005 in Lyon, France by Pierre Guilbert. He says
he was influenced by a combination of American indie bands of the 80s & 90s
(like Soundgarden, Hüsker Dü, Nirvana, Black Flag, Kyuss) & the Link Wray
surf sound. Pierre
has described it as “stoner surfing”. ATT’s first demo, from 2006 is called A
Meth-Lab Experience.
The Tijuana Trip is a brief sojourn, only five instrumental
tracks, a short journey into the
depths of the desert near Tijuana,
lying in the back of a car under the influence of something seemingly more
psychedelic than meth.
This demo was
followed in 2007 by a three track Everybody Needs It. ATT’s musick has evolved to a style somewhere between dreamy heavy rock, dissident
hardcore & dusty Americana,
aiming to take the listener to far & dry places fueled by the acid swell of
a well deserved trip.
In 2009, Pierre was joined by
Xavier "Wallot" on bass to propel Pierre toward new lands & horizons. A 3rd EP was
supposedly on the way. Does anyone know any more?
